A day after the civil wedding that transformed one-time Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock into the Princess of Monaco, the South African and her prince, Albert II exchanged vows in the religious ceremony today.
The happy both couple both answered ‘oui’ (yes) to the Archbishop of Monaco, Bernard Barsi, who conducted the service in front of 850 guests.
Wearing an off-the-shoulder Armani dress, the new Princess Charlene on Monaco looked serene and beautiful as she wed Prince Albert in the courtyard of the Prince’s Palace.

One cannot simply write “he is disgusting” and nothing else, what does that mean? Are you disgusted by his actions? If so, I would agree. Or are you saying something like I see on msg boards and find so terrible unkind: “He is old and ugly and fat” – one or all of those things?
I think any man who is part in creating a life should be there for that child and we know that Albert II has at least two children – not just out of wedlock – but whom he seems to have not cared much about. Who knows what happened in private, we can hope he somehow was in touch with his daughter (Jazmin, I believe) and son whose name I do not remember… that is very sad and wrong.
But back to the wedding – Charlene did look so beautiful! I wish i had seen the nuptials, have only seen a few photos. And while she does seem to look serious often, i think she is a private person who, like Grace before her, is navigating a very new world after being an independent woman previously. Let’s not be silly enough to think she only knew about Albert’s children only in the days leading up to the wedding, they dated for many years and these days, to want to marry a royal, one really does need to be in love as it is not a fun job! That is why I think William and Kate were so wise, they knew each other, she knew what to expect… she was not from another country so no new language to learn, no culture shock.
I’ll stop now, I start wool-gathering and it goes and goes… ;0)

It does seem that Charlene and Albert were an arranged marriage.

PS – I also have not been able to find out exactly what color Princess Charlene’s dress was, but think that it was probably white and when she was standing on the red carpet, it created a pink look when photographed. I do know definitely that it was an Armani, so maybe someone there will help us! š
